First corporate AI hackathon commences at IT Park Uzbekistan

On 13 August, IT Park Uzbekistan launched its inaugural corporate AI hackathon, bringing together 270 employees from the head office, regional branches, and affiliated structures. The objective of the event is to develop and implement innovative AI-driven solutions aimed at optimizing internal business processes.

The opening ceremony took place at the IT Park Congress Hall. In his welcome address, Oleg Pekos, First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies, underscored the strategic importance of integrating artificial intelligence into both public and private sector operations.

Elyor Maksudov, Startup and Investment Development Director at IT Park Uzbekistan, emphasized the unique format of the event, which combines team building with a technology-focused competition.

Leading experts in artificial intelligence and startups, Usmon Rakhimjonov and Artyom Panferov, presented global trends and practical case studies in AI adoption. They familiarized IT Park staff with the application of H.A.D.I. cycles for hypothesis testing as well as agent-based programming.

During the first day, participants were introduced to the objectives, rules, and evaluation criteria of the hackathon, met with mentors — representatives of member companies and industry experts — and began developing the concepts for their projects. The topics cover key areas such as HR process automation, accounting optimization, document management improvement, enhancement of customer service quality, and more.

Fifteen AI specialists from Realsoft, AI Lab, EPAM, and IMPACT served as mentors, playing a pivotal role in guiding participants on both technical and conceptual matters to ensure the practical applicability and readiness of their projects for implementation. The first day demonstrated a high level of team engagement and a strong commitment to delivering meaningful results.

Thematic workshops are scheduled for today and tomorrow, with the final round to be held on 16 August, where teams will present their solutions to the jury and the winners will be announced.

IT Park Uzbekistan remains committed to creating platforms that unlock the potential of its specialists, integrate advanced technologies, and cultivate a culture of innovation within the organization.
