The event brought together Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation H.E. Khalfan Belhoul, Meta’s Vice President of AI Research Ruslan Salakhutdinov, Google Cloud’s Head of Government Affairs Marina Zhunich, and CEO of IT Park University Bokhodir Ayupov.
The panel session covered the global trajectory of AI development, best practices for integrating AI technologies into public administration, innovative approaches, and forward-looking strategies.
Speakers discussed the societal impact of artificial intelligence, issues related to safety and data privacy, the importance of high-quality datasets for AI models, as well as emerging formats of international cooperation.
Ruslan Salakhutdinov highlighted the latest scientific findings in AI research, emphasizing that ensuring model efficiency and adherence to ethical principles is one of today’s most critical priorities. H.E. Khalfan Belhoul underscored that artificial intelligence stands at the core of Dubai’s innovation agenda, fundamentally transforming city management, transportation, healthcare, and security systems. Google Cloud representative Marina Zhunich shared her experience in state policy and technology integration, outlining global practices on AI governance in the public sector, risk mitigation, and safeguarding digital sovereignty.
The discussion also gave particular attention to Uzbekistan’s achievements in digital transformation and the extensive efforts underway to develop a robust national AI ecosystem.
Minister Sherzod Shermatov noted the expansion of IT education, the creation of a modern technological environment for young people, the rapid development of data centers and digital infrastructure, and the increasing use of AI-driven automation in public services. He also provided detailed insights into responsible AI governance, ethical standards, and alignment with international norms.
Experts described the panel session as one of the most significant AI dialogue platforms not only within the region but across Central Asia. They emphasized that Uzbekistan is actively participating in global AI processes and gaining international recognition for its innovative initiatives.
