Latvia and Uzbekistan: New Horizons for IT Export and International Partnerships

IT Park Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with Mr. Georgijs Vojevoda, the Head of the Representative Office of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia in Uzbekistan. The IT Park delegation was led by Ms. Makhliyo Muksinova, Services Export Development Director. The primary focus of the discussions was to explore potential avenues for cooperation and establish a joint action plan for 2025.

Why is this Important?

The Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) is dedicated to enhancing the exports and competitiveness of Latvian companies, attracting foreign investments, and fostering the development of tourism and innovation. The agency supports startups in transforming innovative ideas into businesses, raises their international visibility, and facilitates participation in exhibitions and conferences. LIAA also organizes events and provides "startup visas" for entrepreneurs from non-EU countries seeking to bring their ideas to life in Latvia.

Key Agreements

During the meeting, Mr. Vojevoda expressed a keen interest in Uzbekistan’s artificial intelligence development strategy and proposed the consideration of establishing an IT Park representative office in Latvia to engage actively with the Baltic and Scandinavian regions. Furthermore, the parties deliberated on organizing the Latvian IT Forum and establishing Latvia’s pavilion at ICTWeek 2025.

“Expanding international cooperation is a core priority for IT Park. Latvia offers a well-developed digital infrastructure and a favorable investment climate, presenting significant opportunities for Uzbek IT companies. We are confident that our collaboration with LIAA will fortify Uzbekistan’s position as an international IT hub,” remarked Ms. Makhliyo Muksinova, Services Export Development Director at IT Park.

Partnerships with international organizations such as the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia play a vital role in strengthening Uzbekistan’s ties with global markets, expanding the international presence of Uzbek IT companies, and fostering the exchange of expertise and innovation. These efforts create a conducive environment for the development of startups, the enhancement of technological competencies, and the integration of advanced technologies within Uzbekistan.

IT Park Uzbekistan remains committed to fostering international cooperation, generating new opportunities for foreign investment, and advancing the export potential of the domestic IT industry. IT Park continues to serve as a driving force in the country’s digital transformation, facilitating access to new markets and opportunities for growth.
