The CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, Farkhod Ibragimov, held a meeting with a delegation from the World Bank, led by Ms. Sandra Sargent. The meeting was convened within the framework of the Uzbekistan Digital Inclusion project, which is dedicated to advancing digital society development and enhancing access to digital services throughout the country.

About the Uzbekistan Digital Inclusion project: The Uzbekistan Digital Inclusion project is designed to ensure widespread access to digital technologies and services for all segments of the population, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups, including women, youth, and residents of rural areas. The primary objectives of the project are to increase digital literacy, support educational initiatives within the IT sphere, and build the infrastructure necessary to integrate digital technologies into daily life and business operations. Additionally, the project aims to create conditions for equitable access to digital resources and accelerate the digital transformation of Uzbekistan’s economy.

During the negotiations, particular emphasis was placed on issues related to digital inclusion, enhancement of educational programs in the IT field, and establishment of a modern digital infrastructure. This project aims to provide broad access to digital competencies for a diverse range of segments of the population, thereby contributing to the advancement of Uzbekistan’s digital economy.

The World Bank representatives were also briefed on other IT Park initiatives, which are focused on startup development, fostering innovation, and the digitalization of various economic sectors.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to continue close collaboration on the Uzbekistan Digital Inclusion project, focusing on the implementation of initiatives that will solidify Uzbekistan’s status as a digital leader in Central Asia.
