Advisor to the President of Slovenia Visits IT Park Uzbekistan

A delegation led by Professor Zlatko Šabič, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Slovenia on International Relations and Professor at the University of Ljubljana, along with Ms. Katja Geršak, Director of the esteemed Slovenian non-governmental organization Regional Dialogue, paid an official visit to the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the visit, the delegation was presented with a comprehensive overview of the ongoing reforms, strategic priorities, and future plans being pursued by IT Park Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Digital Technologies.

The guests became acquainted with Uzbekistan’s practical efforts in the field of digital transformation, with a particular focus on the training of IT specialists, cybersecurity, and the development of artificial intelligence technologies.

The program also included site visits to the UZSOC — a center specializing in the protection of critical information infrastructure — and to UZINFOCOM, the Single Integrator of Digital Solutions and E-Government Systems. Particular emphasis was placed on advancements in artificial intelligence and digital innovation.

As part of the visit, the delegation held a meeting with the First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies, Mr. O. Umarov. The discussion centered on strengthening bilateral cooperation, especially in the context of training young professionals in the fields of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

The parties also exchanged views on digitalization, the creation of a favorable ecosystem for startups, and attracting foreign companies to Uzbekistan.

The visit represented a significant step toward deepening collaboration between Uzbekistan and Slovenia in the spheres of digital technology and education.
