Daiwa House Group Discussed Collaboration Opportunities with IT Park

The IT Park team, led by Akihiro Sakurai, Advisor to the Minister of Digital Technologies, and Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, Executive Director of IT Park, held a meeting with a delegation from the Japanese company Daiwa House Group, one of Japan's largest construction corporations specializing in residential and commercial real estate. During the discussions, representatives from Daiwa House Group expressed their interest in exploring business opportunities in Uzbekistan and potential partnerships in the fields of information technology and construction.

    Why is this significant?

Established in 1955 in Osaka, Japan, Daiwa House Group has grown into one of the largest construction enterprises globally, achieving revenue of $35.43 billion in 2024. The company actively leverages cutting-edge technologies to deliver sustainable and innovative solutions in residential, commercial, and industrial real estate, with a particular focus on meeting the needs of elderly populations and the healthcare sector in Japan.

The delegation from Daiwa House Group, led by Shinji Tanioku, Executive Director of the South Asia Business Department, engaged in discussions with IT Park representatives on several key topics, including outsourcing opportunities, the development of human resources, and the potential establishment of a Daiwa House Group office in Uzbekistan.

The company has expressed interest in Uzbekistan’s outsourcing potential, particularly in the architectural design of construction projects. The company currently collaborates with firms in China and Vietnam, offering project design services in critical areas such as architecture and engineering. This expertise could be leveraged for further collaboration with Uzbek companies in the outsourcing domain.

Moreover, Daiwa House Group is considering initiatives to train professionals in Uzbekistan, focusing on design and the use of software such as AutoCAD. Such efforts would create new opportunities for training and employment for local professionals, thereby enhancing the qualifications of Uzbekistan’s workforce in architectural and construction fields.

During the meeting, participants discussed the integration of advanced technologies in construction, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) systems, modular construction techniques, robotics, and the application of virtual reality for project simulations. Daiwa House Group also expressed interest in collaborating with Uzbek IT companies and startups to develop software and intelligent systems for use in construction.

“We are delighted to see major companies like Daiwa House Group demonstrating interest in Uzbekistan. This is a testament to the growing attractiveness of our country for international partnerships, particularly in high-tech and innovative industries such as construction and IT. With the rapid development of Uzbekistan’s construction and IT sectors, we are confident that our country can become a key hub for implementing joint projects and advanced solutions in these fields,” stated Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, Executive Director of IT Park.

The meeting was attended by Akihiro Sakurai, Advisor to the Minister of Digital Technologies, who underscored the importance of fostering collaboration between Japan and Uzbekistan in the areas of construction, technology, and education.

The visit of Daiwa House Group marks a significant milestone in expanding business opportunities in Uzbekistan and reflects the growing interest of international corporations in the country as a promising market for introducing innovative solutions in construction and IT sectors.

IT Park remains committed to strengthening international partnerships and supporting startups and companies in their efforts to expand into global markets.
