ITPU presents a new university concept

The Open Day of IT Park University was held at the Ministry of Digital Technologies, attracting prospective students, their parents, and those interested in IT education and professional development.

More than 100 guests had the opportunity to learn about the university’s academic programs, ask questions regarding admissions, studies, and career prospects, and engage directly with students and representatives from IT companies. The event also featured presentations on bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.

IT Park University is the first higher education institution in Uzbekistan focused on practical IT education. It was established by the global IT company EPAM in collaboration with IT Park under the Ministry of Digital Technologies.

Opening remarks were delivered by Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, and Bokhodir Ayupov, Director of IT Park University.

“Our goal is to build a strong pool of talented youth who will be in high demand both nationally and internationally. We expect IT Park University to prepare a new generation of professionals capable of developing competitive solutions and successfully implementing global IT projects in the near future,” noted Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan.

Bokhodir Ayupov, in turn, emphasized the university’s innovative concept for the Central Asian market: students are taught by active professionals from EPAM, allowing them to work on real-world industry challenges from the very first year. ITPU places strong emphasis on practical training, startup ecosystem development, and student engagement in projects, enabling them to achieve tangible results by the second year, launch their own startups and participate in national competitions and grant programs. A particular source of pride is the group of ITPU students and graduates who reached the finals of the prestigious President Tech Award, demonstrating the effectiveness of the university’s practice-oriented approach and ecosystem opportunities.

Currently, over 400 students are enrolled at ITPU, including 80 who comprise the university’s first graduating class. Notably, 80% of these graduates are already employed at organizations such as IT Park, TBC Bank x Payme, Alif, Beeline, and international companies like EPAM. In addition, two students are currently interning at Apple, underscoring the high quality of education and practical skill development at the university.

Representatives of partner organizations — IT Park, IT Bilim, TBC Uzbekistan (TBC Bank x Payme), and the IT Community of Uzbekistan — shared industry trends and highlighted the importance of practice-oriented education. Topics included internship opportunities, international experience, and job market requirements for young professionals.

A highlight of the day was the Exam Challenge prize ceremony. Out of 159 participants, Ilyos Avazbaev secured first place with the highest scores in English and Mathematics and received the grand prize — a MacBook. Bekhruz Nodirov took second place, winning Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones, while Abdulloh Sodikov, the third-place winner, received Sony WH-CH720N headphones.

The event concluded with informal networking between industry representatives, faculty, and prospective students. This provided a valuable opportunity to discuss current trends in IT education, ask questions directly to experts, receive practical advice, and establish initial professional connections.

Attendees were also able to inquire in detail about admission processes, educational formats, and career paths. University representatives shared key information regarding deadlines, entry requirements, and the advantages that students can expect from the beginning of their academic journey. This open format helped many participants make informed decisions and receive practical advice for preparing for entrance exams.

Applications for bachelor’s programs are open until 20 September 2025. To apply, candidates must pass an online test in Mathematics and English. A demo version of the entrance exam is available to help applicants prepare. A minimum English proficiency level of B1 is required. ITPU offers two undergraduate programs: Software Engineering and Cybersecurity, each lasting 4 years.

Applications for master’s programs are open until 18 September 2025. Applicants must pass an online interview in English, as well as a language proficiency test. A minimum English level of B2 is required. ITPU currently offers three master’s programs: Software Engineering, Information Security, and IT Project Management & Artificial Intelligence, with a duration of 1.5 years.

Prospective students interested in studying at ITPU can register for the entrance exam via this link.

IT Park University remains committed to foster an environment where every student can realize their potential, transform ideas into real-world projects, and become an integral part of the country’s rapidly evolving IT community.
