From Call Centers to Regional Headquarters: IT Park Presents New Opportunities at the E-commerce Expo

The two-day E-commerce Central Asia Expo 2025 has commenced in Tashkent, bringing together over 150 companies from across the region. Sevara Khidoyatova, a representative of IT Park Uzbekistan, presented expanded tax incentives for the entire digital business ecosystem.

The E-commerce Central Asia Expo is the largest platform in the region, uniting representatives from marketplaces and retail, fintech companies, payment systems, logistics operators, venture funds, and startups.

    Key Highlights

Particular emphasis was placed on three strategic directions. Firstly, the tax incentive program has been significantly broadened. It now extends to logistics operators in e-commerce, payment systems, marketplaces, and digital marketing companies. These entities are eligible for benefits such as exemptions from profit tax for periods ranging from 3 to 7 years, a simplified taxation system, and customs preferences for the import of equipment.

Secondly, special conditions have been established for international companies seeking to establish offices for service companies. This includes reimbursement of up to 50% of office rental costs for technical support centers, the compensation of 30% of salary expenses for content moderation staff, and tax holidays for call centers during the first two years of operation. The government is also involved in workforce development through specialized courses, internship programs, and language training.

Thirdly, Uzbekistan is positioned as an ideal hub for regional headquarters of e-commerce companies. This is facilitated by the country’s strategic geographical location at the center of the region, a population of 80 million, a well-developed logistics infrastructure, and a growing domestic market with 99% internet coverage. For such companies, there is an expedited registration process, support in obtaining necessary licenses, and a special visa program.

The E-commerce Central Asia Expo 2025 further solidifies Uzbekistan's expanding role as a hub for digital transformation in the region. The broadening of IT Park’s incentive programs to encompass the entire digital business ecosystem provides exceptional opportunities for companies looking to scale their operations in Central Asia.
