    IT Park and JASA Discuss Uzbekistan’s Potential in IT Services and IoT for the Japanese Market

     

    A delegation from IT Park, led by Jamila Khalibaeva, Director of Global Marketing and Communications, accompanied by Mr. Akihiro Sakurai, Advisor to the Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, and Farrukh Rasulov, CEO of IT Bilim, conducted a meeting with representatives of the Japan Association of Semiconductor and Automation (JASA) and its member companies, including GIC, YANAI, and One, and others. The discussions centered on potential avenues for collaboration and the prospects for Japanese enterprises within the Uzbek market.

     

    Established in 2005, the Japan Association of Semiconductor and Automation (JASA) comprises over 200 member companies and maintains strong partnerships with Yokohama Technopark, one of the major technology parks in Yokohama. JASA is committed to market analysis, the professional development of specialists, globalization of Japanese companies, and the adoption of advanced technologies such as IoT. 

     

     

    During the dialogue, JASA representatives underscored the increasing interest of Japanese businesses in Uzbekistan as a promising new destination for expansion, emphasizing the necessity of cultivating a pool of professionals proficient in the Japanese language and knowledgeable about the specific demands of Japan’s technological landscape. A key potential area for collaboration between the IT sectors of both nations is the training of Uzbek specialists to contribute to projects by Japanese companies.  

     

    The IT Park delegation also presented the advantages of Uzbekistan for IteS companies. Notably, programs such as Zero Risk, which provides IT Park members with free office space and equipment for a period of 12 months, and Regional HQ, which offers an opportunity to establish regional headquarters in Uzbekistan facilitate market expansion, drew significant interest from JASA representatives.

     

     

    The parties reached an agreement continue negotiations to future collaboration, with plans for a JASA delegation visit to Uzbekistan to gain insights into the IT Park ecosystem and further evaluate opportunities for Japanese companies in the Uzbek market.

     

    The partnership with JASA and its member companies presents unique opportunities for Uzbekistan's integration into the global high-tech sector, granting local specialists access to advanced technological developments. This collaboration is expected to enhance the competitiveness of the local workforce in high-tech industries, fostering knowledge and technology exchange. Furthermore, the presence of Japanese companies in Uzbekistan could bolster international investor confidence, paving the way for new investments and contributing to the sustainable growth of the country's IT sector and economy at large.

    GBSF 2025 outcomes: Uzbekistan strengthens its status as an IT hub

    Tashkent hosted the Global Business Services Forum 2025 (GBSF 2025), one of the most prominent events of the year in the field of IT outsourcing and digital services. Organized by IT Park Uzbekistan with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the event convened approximately 450 participants representing 260 companies, including 237 international companies from 40 countries. Among the attendees were representatives of multinational corporations, startups, government agencies, and venture capital funds.
