IT Park Uzbekistan Discussed Collaboration Opportunities with TONOMUS

The delegation from IT Park Uzbekistan, led by CEO Farkhod Ibragimov, engaged in discussions with Olivier Sage, CFO of TONOMUS. During the meeting, the IT Park representatives presented the advantages of establishing an office in Uzbekistan and obtaining membership within IT Park.

TONOMUS, a global leader in cognitive technologies and digital infrastructure, is headquartered in Neom, Saudi Arabia. The company has invested over $1 billion in artificial intelligence-related products and services. While its primary operations are based in Saudi Arabia, TONOMUS maintains an extensive global footprint through initiatives such as satellite communications connecting Asia, Europe, and Africa.

Discussions focused on prospects for collaboration in the investment domain, particularly concerning AI-driven products and services, and identifying potential areas for joint investments within Uzbekistan.

Farkhod Ibragimov highlighted opportunities for cooperation in the establishment of accelerators and a venture studio to support Uzbek startups, providing expertise in scaling operations, integrating artificial intelligence, and advancing sustainable technologies. Representatives from TONOMUS expressed their willingness to invest in startups specializing in AI and smart city solutions and committed to supporting these ventures as they enter the Saudi Arabian market.

The discussion also touched upon outsourcing projects for Saudi Arabia by engaging Uzbek engineers or creating a back office in Uzbekistan. With its highly skilled IT professionals, competitive service costs, developed infrastructure, and robust governmental support, and a sizable population of Arabic-speaking specialists Uzbekistan is emerging as a favorable destination for outsourcing projects.

The TONOMUS delegation was extended an invitation to visit Uzbekistan to gain firsthand insights into the country’s infrastructure and its human capital capabilities.

Looking ahead, the partnership between IT Park Uzbekistan and TONOMUS is expected to drive the development of artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure projects, attracting substantial investments and cutting-edge technologies to the region. Furthermore, collaboration on accelerators and a venture studio will create new opportunities for local startups, reinforcing Uzbekistan’s position as a leading hub for technological innovation in Central Asia.
