Results of the Silkroad Venture School intensive for IT Park and IT Park Ventures Teams

IT Park Uzbekistan and IT Park Ventures, in collaboration with Silkroad Innovation Hub and Silkroad Angels Club, implemented a series of educational initiatives aimed at fostering a culture of angel and venture capital investing. The initiative included both specialized training for IT Park and IT Park Ventures employees and an open intensive program, Silkroad Venture School, for representatives of the regional venture capital market.

Silkroad Venture School is a five-day intensive program on angel and venture capital investing, held in an online format. The program was organized by Silkroad Angels Club and Silkroad Innovation Hub in partnership with IT Park Uzbekistan and IT Park Ventures and was designed to develop both theoretical and practical skills in venture investing.

The program consisted of four thematic modules and a final session, totaling more than 10 hours of training and featuring 10 speakers—practicing investors and startup founders from Silicon Valley and the region. Within the modules “Fundamentals of Venture and Angel Investing,” “Startup Due Diligence Methodology,” “Startup Valuation Methods,” and “Legal Aspects of Deal Structuring, Portfolio Management, and Exit Strategies,” participants systematically explored the key stages of the investment cycle. The program concluded with a guest lecture and a final startup pitch session.

More than 60 participants took part in the training, including representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan, IT Park Ventures, AloqaVentures, United Ventures, SQB Ventures, CS Angels Club, C-Space, Qazaqstan Venture Group Ltd, Astana Hub Ventures, and members of the Silkroad Angels Club. As a result, the program became a shared educational platform for venture market players across Central Asia and was offered to ecosystem partners on an open and accessible basis.

The program’s speakers included Asset Abdualiyev, Abay Absamet, Alexander Soroka, Danil Kislinsky, Alex Ravsky, Ramon Djuraboev, Anna Fokina, as well as founders of technology startups operating in international markets. As part of the program, participants reviewed startup pitches from Surfaice.pro, Aleem, and Pipkin—Silicon Valley–based startups working in AI, construction tech, and EdTech.

“For IT Park Ventures, developing competencies in venture and angel investing is part of a long-term and consistent approach to building a sustainable investment infrastructure in the region. Together with IT Park Uzbekistan, and in partnership with Silkroad Innovation Hub and Silkroad Angels Club, we implemented Silkroad Venture School as a practical educational platform aimed at improving the quality of startup evaluation, deal structuring, and the readiness of market participants to co-invest with international partners.
It is important for us that access to such programs is provided not only to our internal teams, but also to ecosystem partners—venture funds, corporate investors, and angel communities—thereby forming unified standards, a shared methodology, and a comparable level of expertise across the market,”

said Azamat Karamatov, Director of IT Park Ventures.

“For us, Silkroad Venture School is not just an educational format, but a tool for developing venture thinking in the region. Our goal is for development institutions, funds, and angels to have a common understanding of how the venture cycle works—from startup analysis to exit. We see significant potential in Central Asia, and such programs lay the foundation for the emergence of strong regional investors operating according to international standards. I would also like to thank IT Park Uzbekistan and IT Park Ventures for their partnership, trust, and systematic support of initiatives aimed at developing a mature venture ecosystem in the region,”

emphasized Asset Abdualiyev, Founder and CEO of Silkroad Innovation Hub.

“The angel and venture capital market in the region is developing dynamically, while at the same time building direct access to one of the world’s leading venture ecosystems. Silkroad Venture School clearly demonstrates that experts and venture investors from Silicon Valley openly share their experience with regional funds and angel investors. Beyond the educational component, the Silkroad Angels Club community is already implementing joint investments in the regional diaspora developing technology startups for the U.S. market. For us, it is important to combine practical investment activity with a solid theoretical foundation. I believe that this continuous exchange of knowledge and joint investments creates long-term value for the entire regional venture ecosystem,”

noted Abay Absamet, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Silkroad Angels.

The series of educational initiatives contributed to the development of a professional venture community and to improving the quality of investment expertise in the region. For IT Park Uzbekistan and IT Park Ventures, this initiative is part of a systematic effort to build a mature venture ecosystem where investors, funds, and startups speak a common professional language and apply international standards when working with innovative projects.

Navigating talent hiring in Uzbekistan: How IT Park Uzbekistan makes the process work

Uzbekistan is in the middle of a meaningful economic transition. A growing tech sector, a young and multilingual population, and an expanding base of IT education programs are turning the country into an increasingly attractive destination for international companies. At the same time, hiring foreign employees here requires an understanding of a structured legal framework that exists to protect both employers and workers. For companies entering the market for the first time, this environment can feel complex. That is why IT Park Uzbekistan plays such an important role as a practical, on-the-ground partner for foreign businesses.

Tax incentives for startups and foreign investors in Uzbekistan’s IT sector

When I write about Uzbekistan’s tech ecosystem, I keep returning to one theme: opportunity. Unlike in many emerging markets, opportunity here is not just a buzzword, it is being codified into law, built into fiscal frameworks, and delivered through the state-backed IT Park. For startups and foreign investors, the most powerful lever remains the country’s generous package of tax incentives, which have turned IT Park residency into a competitive advantage.
