Uzbek founders abroad to support the development of the national startup ecosystem

As part of ICT Week Uzbekistan 2025, Sherzod Shermatov, Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, and Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, held a meeting with a delegation of Uzbek entrepreneurs who have established startups in the United States, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates. The parties reached an agreement to expand cooperation, advance the startup ecosystem, open new channels for investment and partnership, and create conditions to facilitate the entry of Uzbek projects into global markets.

The meeting was attended by founders and senior executives of leading international companies, including:

Fleetroot (UAE) — a platform for fleet management, logistics optimization, and last-mile delivery. The company operates actively in the MENA region, providing cloud-based solutions for transportation and service enterprises.

Comfi (UAE) — a fintech startup delivering innovative B2B SaaS payment solutions. Its products streamline payment processes for businesses and expedite contract execution, ensuring transparency and flexibility in financial transactions.

SPS Commerce (USA) — a global leader in cloud solutions for e-commerce and supply chain management. The company recently completed the acquisition of SupplyPike for $206 million, strengthening its position in global market.

Clarity Flo (USA) — a startup offering AI-driven tools to simplify and automate contract management, actively advancing LegalTech solutions and reducing business operational costs associated with documentation.

CustomerBase.ai (USA) — a technology company specializing in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud platforms, with applications in fintech, education, and corporate automation.

Rakuten Group (Japan) — Japan’s largest IT conglomerate, renowned for its expertise in e-commerce, fintech, telecommunications, and digital services. The company continues to develop international initiatives and support the IT community.

Trestle (South Korea) — a company providing implementation and customization of Salesforce solutions across multiple industries, combining technological expertise with experience in building multicultural teams.

Moneff (United Kingdom) — a successful fintech startup founded by Uzbek entrepreneurs, developing advanced payment services for small and medium-sized enterprises and providing financial solutions for the Uzbek diaspora in Europe.

Salm Corp (South Korea) — a technology startup developing SaaS and AI products in the health tech sector, with a focus on digital tools to support mental health and well-being.

Smartup (Uzbekistan, UAE) — a cloud-based ERP platform managed by Green White Solutions, automating distribution, trade marketing, warehousing, financial processes, and point-of-sale operations.

Particular emphasis was placed on establishing a sustained dialogue between the domestic startup ecosystem and Uzbek founders abroad. The discussion addressed key challenges for emerging companies entering international markets, including access to investment, mentorship, and expert networks, as well as the formation of teams comprising specialists from different countries. The conversation also underscored the considerable potential for integrating Uzbek IT talent into global projects and the critical role of the diaspora in fostering innovation.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to initiate joint programs to support startups, develop educational initiatives, and establish new channels for attracting investment.

These agreements are expected to open additional opportunities for international collaboration, promote Uzbek startups, and attract investment, thereby reinforcing Uzbekistan’s position as a regional hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
