Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Rustam Karimjonov and CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan Abdulakhad Kuchkarov held a meeting with a European business delegation comprising 32 representatives from 20 German and European companies and organizations. The delegation was led by Michael Harms, Managing Director of the German Eastern Business Association.
The visit was dedicated to discussing opportunities for cooperation in the ICT sector, with both sides expressing their readiness to deepen the partnership and to advance joint initiatives. The delegation included leading German and European companies such as DB Engineering & Consulting GmbH, Crowe TAC, 4iG, Telc GmbH, among others.
During the meeting, the parties addressed the strengthening of collaboration between IT Park Uzbekistan and the German Eastern Business Association, the expansion of bilateral ties between Uzbekistan and Germany, and the identification of new areas for future engagement. The delegation underscored the importance of further developing partnerships between Europe and Uzbekistan in the field of ICT.
The German Eastern Business Association (Ost-Ausschuss der Deutschen Wirtschaft) is one of Europe’s principal platforms for fostering international cooperation, uniting leading companies from Germany and the European Union. The Committee supports the expansion of economic relations, business engagement, and the development of strategic projects across the markets of Central and Eastern Europe.
A presentation was also organized for the delegation at IT Park Uzbekistan, where guests were introduced to the national IT ecosystem, government support measures, the technological infrastructure, and opportunities for establishing offices and R&D centers in Uzbekistan. Participants met with representatives of major IT Park member companies — Uzinfocom, EPAM Systems, and Realsoft — which allowed the delegation to review practical examples of IT sector development in the country and to exchange expertise.
Members of the delegation noted the significant potential of the Uzbek market, the availability of qualified talent, and the dynamic development of local digital infrastructure. Several companies expressed interest in establishing cooperation, developing joint projects, and further studying the Uzbek market.
The meetings strengthened the international positioning of IT Park Uzbekistan and opened new opportunities for attracting European investment, facilitating technology transfer, and expanding the export geography of Uzbekistan’s IT services. The visit of the German delegation marked an important step in deepening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Europe in the strategically important sphere of digital development.
