Within the framework of ICT Week Uzbekistan 2025, Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, CEO of IT Park, held a meeting with a Latvian delegation headed by Georgijs Vojevoda, Head of the Latvian Foreign Economic Relations Office in Uzbekistan (Latvian Investment and Development Agency).
The discussions focused on prospects for cooperation in IT outsourcing, existing support programs for member companies, procedures for establishing companies in Uzbekistan, as well as initiatives in the field of startups and the broader innovation ecosystem. Representatives of IT Park provided detailed information on the conditions created for the development of IT outsourcing, measures of government support, and opportunities available for international companies.
Particular attention was given to the rapid growth of Uzbekistan’s startup ecosystem. The Latvian delegation expressed interest in understanding which areas are currently most popular among Uzbek startups.
IT Park representatives emphasized that support for startups spans all stages of development: from the eight IT Park startup studios (2025) and MVP programs with Plug and Play and Domino Ventures, to the accelerators of IT Park, Tumaris, and Silkroad Innovation Hub. Since 2024, more than 90 Uzbek startups have participated in major international events, including Web Summit, Gitex Global, and London Tech Week, with the support of the Startup Base platform.
The Latvian delegation also showed particular interest in talent development and educational initiatives, including the national One Million Uzbek Coders program and “School 21.” Latvian companies were invited to establish offices in Uzbekistan, where they may benefit from business support under the Zero Risk program, as well as the opportunity to hire local specialists.
The meeting marked an important step toward strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Latvia. Both sides expressed readiness to continue the dialogue and expand business ties, thereby fostering the development of the innovation ecosystem and enhancing IT service exports in both countries.
