Representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan, led by Makhliyo Muksinova, Services Export Development Director, held a meeting with a delegation from the South Korean company Timonet Korea Inc., headed by its President, Kwon Hee Min. As a result of the discussions, the parties reached an agreement on the company’s plans to open an office in Uzbekistan and signed a memorandum of understanding.
Headquartered in Seoul (Republic of Korea), Timonet Korea Inc. is a provider of IT services and solutions in the fields of network infrastructure, cybersecurity, software development, and systems integration, as well as content delivery through OTT (Over-the-Top) platforms. The company holds five patents and several international certifications, including ISO 9001 and KS Service, and has been recognized with government awards for its achievements in job creation and human resources development.
The meeting also addressed the company’s registration procedures in Uzbekistan, the specifics of national legislation, and the availability of a highly skilled workforce with technical expertise and foreign language proficiency. IT Park representatives provided detailed information on support measures available to foreign investors, including tax incentives, soft-landing initiatives, and administrative assistance.
IT Park Uzbekistan and Timonet Korea Inc. signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at enhancing strategic collaboration in OTT platform development, IT services, and joint talent development initiatives. The agreement provides for the establishment and launch of an OTT platform tailored to the Uzbek market, as well as joint projects in professional training, outsourcing, and the exchange of IT specialists.
Timonet Korea Inc. plans to establish an office in Uzbekistan to provide OTT services (video content in Uzbek, Russian, and English, similar to Netflix) for the CIS markets, with subsequent expansion to a global audience.
This partnership with Timonet Korea Inc. will strengthen IT Park Uzbekistan’s international relations with South Korea, attract investment into advanced technologies, and generate new employment opportunities. In the longer term, the company’s Tashkent office is expected to become part of the growing ecosystem for global IT players and to contribute to enhancing the country’s export potential.
