    Uzbek Tech Community Engaged with Leaders of Uzbekistan's Digital Sector in Silicon Valley

     

    An event took place at the Silkroad Innovation Hub in Silicon Valley, а ”Vatandoshlar” event took place gathering over 80 participants, including members of the Uzbek tech community studying and working in California, startup founders, company representatives, and inve stors from Silicon Valley.

     

     

    The event was opened by Minister Sherzod Shermatov, who shared insights into the digital transformation of Uzbekistan, highlighting government efforts to create a favorable environment for tech startups. He discussed initiatives such as the Digital Uzbekistan 2030 strategy and reforms to support IT growth.

     

     

    Jahongir Kagirov, Head of IT & Services Support Department at IT Park Uzbekistan, and Asset Abdualiyev, CEO and Founder of the Silkroad Innovation Hub, presented opportunities for collaboration and investment in the country's IT ecosystem. They emphasized that the government has introduced various incentives, such as tax benefits and residency programs, to attract foreign investment and talent to the sector.

     

     

    Participants expressed interest in the development of IT and education in Uzbekistan. Several attendees, including company founders and investors, indicated an intention to establish companies and invest in the country's tech ecosystem.

     

     

    The event featured a pitch session, where startups from Uzbekistan presented their projects to the audience, showcasing innovations in fintech, AI, and SaaS solutions. The meeting concluded with a networking session, providing an opportunity for participants, including Silicon Valley investors, to connect with Uzbek entrepreneurs and explore avenues for cooperation. This gathering underscored Uzbekistan’s commitment to fostering a tech ecosystem and strengthening ties with the global tech community.

    GBSF 2025 outcomes: Uzbekistan strengthens its status as an IT hub

    Tashkent hosted the Global Business Services Forum 2025 (GBSF 2025), one of the most prominent events of the year in the field of IT outsourcing and digital services. Organized by IT Park Uzbekistan with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the event convened approximately 450 participants representing 260 companies, including 237 international companies from 40 countries. Among the attendees were representatives of multinational corporations, startups, government agencies, and venture capital funds.
