Representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan, led by Makhliyo Muksinova, Director for Services Export Development, held a meeting with a delegation from Pakistan headed by Ahmad Ikram Lone, Chairman of the Gujranwala Business Centre (GBC) and CEO of the Lone Group of Companies. The meeting was dedicated to exploring opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation in information technology, digital solutions, and the export of IT services. The parties exchanged expertise on the development of technological ecosystems, startup support, and the implementation of innovation in both the private and public sectors.
The Pakistani delegation comprised representatives of eight companies operating across various industries, including information technology, digital solutions, software development, and media. The delegation included representatives from Lone Group & Co/ONIT Global, OKTO Home Appliances, Eagale Soft, Minhas Group of Industries, A&J Impex, Chaudhary Enterprises, Jazaa Chemie, and Gujranwala News.
The Gujranwala Business Centre (GBC) is a government organization operating under Pakistan’s Ministry of Industries and Production. The Centre unites over 21,000 enterprises and plays a key role in advancing the industrial and export potential of Gujranwala, the country’s third-largest industrial hub. GBC actively promotes the “Made in Gujranwala” initiative, designed to strengthen the region’s export capabilities and expand international partnerships.
During the discussions, the parties addressed current trends in the IT market, government support mechanisms for IT service exporters, and Uzbekistan’s potential in the digitalization of its economy and development of human capital. The Pakistani delegation presented their companies’ activities and expressed interest in exploring the benefits of obtaining IT Park Uzbekistan membership.
Ahmad Ikram Lone noted that Uzbekistan has achieved significant progress in digital development and the creation of a favorable environment for IT business growth. He emphasized that establishing direct cooperation with IT Park Uzbekistan opens new prospects for Pakistani companies in terms of collaboration, investment, and entry into the Central Asian market.
Following the discussions, the parties agreed to organize a follow-up online meeting to further discuss areas of cooperation, including IT solutions development, industrial digitalization, IT services export, cybersecurity, and educational initiatives.
The meeting represented another step in enhancing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan in the field of information technology. Joint efforts in innovation, IT services export, and human capital development are expected to strengthen the technological capacities of both countries and to further establish Uzbekistan as a global IT hub.
