Uzbekistan’s ambition to become a leading technology gateway between Central Asia and global markets gained fresh momentum this week as a delegation from Hong Kong, led by Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu, visited Tashkent. The visit concluded with the signing of strategic agreements between IT Park Uzbekistan, IT Park Ventures, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), and a bilateral agreement between IT Park Uzbekistan and Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, laying the groundwork for deeper cooperation in innovation, venture investment, and cross-border business development.
As part of the 4th Meeting of Ministers of Industry of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States, the first international Ala-Too Trade & Industry Expo 2026 was officially opened in Bishkek. During the exhibition, the national “Made in Uzbekistan” pavilion was inaugurated, showcasing the country’s industrial, investment, and innovation potential.
From June 1 to 3, a delegation of IT Park Uzbekistan, led by Director Azamat Karamatov, visited the Republic of Korea and held a series of meetings with representatives of leading technology and game development companies, investment organizations, venture capital associations, and innovation support institutions. As part of the visit, meetings were also held with Uzbek professionals successfully developing their own startups and holding key positions in major Korean IT companies.
