    Investor’s Room at ICT Week and Startup and Venture Summit 2024

     

    Tashkent, Uzbekistan – September 18, 2024 — As part of the Startup & Venture Summit organized by IT Park Uzbekistan, the Investor's Room was held at the CAEx Expo Center. The event brought together leading representatives of venture capital and promising startups from around the world, offering a unique platform for direct communication and discussions on potential investments.

     

     

    Eighteen venture funds participated in the Investor's Room, representing countries such as the United Kingdom, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, the USA, Russia, Qatar, and Uzbekistan. Among the notable participants were renowned funds such as Plug & Play, Sturgeon Capital, DOMiNO VC, Invest Qatar, and Venture Fund "HIVE," among others.

     

    A total of 70 applications were submitted by startups from various countries for participation in the Investor's Room. Following a rigorous selection process, 26 startups were chosen by an expert panel. Among the selected were startups that had previously participated in leading global acceleration programs, including Jett, Finq, Delever, Finco, Magicstore.ai, Sug’urta Bozor, Poweron.ai, Uysot, Coursestore, Avto Salom, Dialix, Ameen, Nyra, Z Med, Growz, Ele, Ongila, Arkay Media, Jobster, Zingo, EduCity, Between, Exode, Puls Ev, and GLMS.

     

     

    The Investor's Room was conducted in the format of dynamic pitch sessions, enabling startups and investors to establish connections in a short time. Several startups successfully secured substantial investments and entered into preliminary agreements for further collaboration. Notably, the startup Royal Taxi raised $200,000 from AloqaVentures, Platma also secured $200,000 from AloqaVentures, and Sug’urta Bozor attracted $100,000 following their presentation at the Startup Pitches.

     

     

    The event provided a significant platform for startups, fostering stronger ties between innovative projects and venture capital. It also offered an excellent opportunity for startups to draw attention to their technological developments, gain valuable experience in engaging with investors and experts, and learn about global industry trends. Participants exchanged ideas, presented their solutions to potential partners and investors, and received critical feedback to further develop their projects.

    GBSF 2025 outcomes: Uzbekistan strengthens its status as an IT hub

    Tashkent hosted the Global Business Services Forum 2025 (GBSF 2025), one of the most prominent events of the year in the field of IT outsourcing and digital services. Organized by IT Park Uzbekistan with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the event convened approximately 450 participants representing 260 companies, including 237 international companies from 40 countries. Among the attendees were representatives of multinational corporations, startups, government agencies, and venture capital funds.

    A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by Jahongir Radjabov, Business Development Director of IT Park Uzbekistan, and Bokhodir Ayupov, Director of IT Park University, participated in a series of ICPC events in Baku and held a meeting with the leadership of the competition. The discussions involved ICPC Presidents Matvey Kazakov and Bill Poucher, along with other representatives of the organization. The meeting centered on the launch of joint training programs for student teams and the potential hosting of the ICPC World Finals in Uzbekistan in 2027.
