IT Park Uzbekistan and Plug and Play Tech Center signed a memorandum on strategic cooperation

The Ministry of Digital Technologies and IT Park Uzbekistan have signed a memorandum of understanding with the global innovation platform Plug and Play Tech Center. The Uzbek delegation was led by Olimjon Umarov, First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies, and Elyor Maksudov, Startup and Investment Development Director of IT Park Uzbekistan. The Plug and Play Tech Center was represented by Amir Amid Khozoor, Reza Bakhadi, Anastasia Brovkina, and Yui Koda of the Plug and Play GOAL team.

Pursuant to the agreement, the parties have committed to extending their partnership for a further three years, advancing joint acceleration programs, and enhancing cooperation in the field of innovation.

Plug and Play Tech Center is among the world’s leading platforms for open innovation. Its ecosystem brings together more than 100,000 startups and 600 corporate partners, supported by a network of over 65 offices worldwide and more than 880 employees. Each year, the company invests in approximately 250 startups, and its portfolio currently includes over 35 unicorns. In 2024 alone, Plug and Play facilitated the growth of more than 2,200 startups across multiple countries.

During the meeting, representatives of Plug and Play Tech Center presented the development of the AI Center of Excellence, a project that unites companies, universities, and government institutions to advance artificial intelligence technologies. Discussions focused on the implementation of joint acceleration programs, the training of AI specialists, and the establishment of new projects in Uzbekistan in collaboration with international investors and partners.

The signing of the memorandum represents an important milestone in strengthening bilateral cooperation. For IT Park Uzbekistan, it provides access to a global network of innovation and investment, thereby accelerating the development of the national startup ecosystem and reinforcing the country’s position on the global technology map.
