Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, held a meeting with a delegation from the international research and consulting organization Startup Genome, led by Christopher Haley, Head of Research. The purpose of the visit was to engage with key stakeholders of Uzbekistan’s ecosystem, gather data, identify the principal steps for the implementation of the first phase of the joint project, and share insights into the development of the country’s startup landscape.
Startup Genome is a global organization headquartered in San Francisco, United States, specializing in research and strategic consulting for startup ecosystems. The organization collaborates with over 185 ministries and agencies across more than 65 countries, publishes flagship reports such as GSER and APEXE, and develops KPIs and policy recommendations to advance innovation ecosystems worldwide.
As part of its long-term cooperation with Startup Genome, Uzbekistan was, for the first time, included in the GSER 2025 global report. This development represents a significant step in strengthening the partnership and serves as recognition of the potential of Uzbekistan’s rapidly growing startup ecosystem on the international stage. Within the framework of the report, Christopher Haley presented the first insights on the country’s ecosystem development during ICT Week 2025.
Participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of expanding entrepreneurial programs in universities, leveraging the expertise of the diaspora, and retaining local talent by creating opportunities within startups.
Following the discussions, the parties agreed to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the ecosystem, develop a roadmap to support high-growth companies, launch AI infrastructure initiatives, and broaden educational programs.
This collaboration will enhance Uzbekistan’s international visibility, strengthen its position on the global startup ecosystem map, and establish strategic benchmarks for the continued development of its innovation-driven economy.
