Within the framework of ICT Week Uzbekistan 2025 in Tashkent, Abdulakhad Kuchkarov, CEO of IT Park Uzbekistan, held a meeting with a delegation from Qatar comprising leading venture capital funds, accelerators, and business angels. The discussions focused on the development of Uzbekistan’s startup ecosystem, meetings with investors and startups, as well as prospects for cooperation in the areas of joint investment, acceleration programs, and the advancement of business angel practices.
The delegation included: Atypical Ventures — a global investment platform specializing in fintech and SaaS; Alchemist Qatar — branch of one of Silicon Valley’s leading accelerators; Rasmal Ventures — a Qatari venture fund focused on the MENA region; Golden Gate Ventures — an international fund with assets under management exceeding $250 million; Doha Tech Angels — Qatar’s first angel investor group; and the European Business Angels Network — the largest association of business angels in Europe.
Of particular interest was the initiative of a joint project with Doha Tech Angels — the establishment of the Business Angel School in Uzbekistan. This educational initiative is designed to cultivate a new generation of professional angel investors in the country and to build a sustainable foundation for the growth of startup investment.
At the conclusion of the visit, the parties expressed their mutual commitment to fostering long-term partnerships, facilitating the exchange of expertise, and implementing joint investment initiatives. This development marks a significant step in Uzbekistan’s integration into the global venture capital community and in strengthening its position as an emerging hub of innovation in Central Asia.
