As part of the United Nations Public Service Forum held in Samarkand, the Minister of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, held a meeting with H.E. Aurélia Bouchez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Uzbekistan.
The parties discussed matters related to digital technologies, digitalization, artificial intelligence, IT outsourcing, the transformation of public services, and the development of digital solutions.
Minister Shermatov provided a detailed overview of the comprehensive reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan aimed at fostering digital government and the digital economy. He underscored the importance of expanding public-private partnerships and actively promoting the integration of digital services.
Ambassador Bouchez, in turn, shared insights into the digital transformation process in France, highlighting the culture of digital service adoption and advanced practices in this field, and expressed readiness to further enhance collaboration with Uzbekistan in this domain.
The discussion also touched upon the development of IT outsourcing potential, support for Uzbek IT companies in entering European markets through the facilitation of the French Embassy, and the promotion of IT service exports to other countries.
Special attention was given to cybersecurity. Minister Shermatov stressed its strategic significance in safeguarding national digital infrastructure and announced the establishment of a dedicated higher education institution — Cyber University — tasked with training highly skilled professionals in the field of cybersecurity.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to further deepen cooperation in digital transformation, cybersecurity, and the export of IT services, as well as the joint implementation of collaborative initiatives.
