    Evren Ucok, Co-founder of Trendyol, Invests in BILLZ and Joins Its Board of Directors

     

    BILLZ, a member of IT Park Uzbekistan and a prominent startup specializing in automation solutions for retail and financial services targeting small and medium-sized enterprises in Central Asia, has secured a strategic investment from distinguished investor and entrepreneur Evren Ucok. This investment, coupled with Ucok's appointment to the board of directors, marks a new chapter in BILLZ’s development, fortifying its position as a potential leader in retail technology across Central Asia.

     

    Evren Ucok is a highly experienced investor with a notable record in building, scaling, and supporting leading technology companies in emerging markets. His achievements include:

    - Trendyol Group — the foremost e-commerce platform and Turkey’s first decacorn.
    - Peak Games — among Turkey’s earliest tech unicorns, acquired at a high valuation, reinforcing Turkey’s role as a center for mobile gaming.
    - Earlybird Digital East Fund (EDEF) — the pioneering venture capital fund in Eastern Europe, achieving approximately 14x profitability and generating $2 billion in returns.
    - UiPath — the largest tech IPO in Europe and a global leader in business process automation, supported by EDEF from its early stages.

     

    Moreover, Ucok actively invests in enterprise software, biotechnology, and deep technology sectors and has played a significant role in establishing over 20 specialized venture funds. His involvement is expected to be instrumental in accelerating BILLZ’s growth, providing vital support in expanding and advancing the company’s technological infrastructure.

    GBSF 2025 outcomes: Uzbekistan strengthens its status as an IT hub

    Tashkent hosted the Global Business Services Forum 2025 (GBSF 2025), one of the most prominent events of the year in the field of IT outsourcing and digital services. Organized by IT Park Uzbekistan with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the event convened approximately 450 participants representing 260 companies, including 237 international companies from 40 countries. Among the attendees were representatives of multinational corporations, startups, government agencies, and venture capital funds.

    On August 8, a training session was launched in Tashkent under the “Uzbekistan Digital Inclusion” initiative, supported by the World Bank, IT Park, and the Central Board of the Society of Disabled People of Uzbekistan. The program welcomed young people with disabilities and provided hands-on skills in resume writing, interview preparation, and awareness of labor rights.

    IT Park Ventures completes its first investment under the 1+1 co-investment mechanism: $100,000 in TASS Vision as part of a €1.3 million funding round

    TASS Vision, a startup specializing in the development of intelligent AI-powered cameras for offline retail, has successfully closed an investment round totaling €1.3 million. One of the key participants in the round was IT Park Ventures, the state venture fund of Uzbekistan, which invested $100,000 as part of the country’s first transaction under the 1+1 co-investment mechanism — introduced by the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 14 October 2024, “On measures for the further development of the startup ecosystem and venture financing.”
