IT Park and EY Discuss the Development of the International Digital Technology Center in Uzbekistan

On January 9, representatives of IT Park Uzbekistan, led by CEO Farkhod Ibragimov, held discussions with a delegation from EY (Ernst & Young), including Ksenia Babushkina, Partner for Advisory Services at EY Caucasus and Central Asia, and Ruta Makareviciute, Partner for Business Consulting. The meeting focused on critical aspects of the implementation of the International Digital Technology Center project, Enterprise Uzbekistan, which is set to play a vital role in Uzbekistan's digital technology infrastructure.

A primary focus of the discussions was the status and future development of the Enterprise Uzbekistan initiative. IT Park and EY placed significant emphasis on the establishment of a specialized legal framework designed to align regulatory standards with leading international practices, including the provision of access to global banking services. This framework will foster an environment conducive to the operations of export-oriented enterprises, startups, and foreign investors.

Farkhod Ibragimov emphasized that an independent judicial system will serve as a significant component of Enterprise Uzbekistan, ensuring robust legal protection for all members of the center. Furthermore, the bespoke legal framework, bolstered by the involvement of international financial institutions will further enhance the center’s international appeal.

Significant emphasis was placed on preparations for the forthcoming IV Tashkent International Investment Forum, scheduled to take place in May of this year. Plans include a series of events dedicated to the official inauguration of Enterprise Uzbekistan and the formulation of regulatory acts for the establishment of an efficient regulatory ecosystem.

The International Digital Technology Center project, supported by prominent organizations such as EY and IT Park, is poised to establish unparalleled conditions for technological development and the attraction of international investments. Enterprise Uzbekistan will not only serve as a pivotal element of Uzbekistan's digital transformation strategy, but also represent a crucial milestone in enhancing the region's business climate, thereby reinforcing the country's standing as a leading high-tech hub in Central Asia.
