MDIST and IT Park Uzbekistan Support Student Initiatives

The Management Development Institute of Singapore in Tashkent (MDIST), with the support of IT Park Uzbekistan, hosted a Demo Day aimed at fostering innovative student startups and ideas. The event gathered numerous participants striving to present projects capable of transforming Uzbekistan’s business environment and penetrating international markets.  

 

 

The event commenced with welcome speeches delivered by Dildora Ishankhodjaeva, Vice Rector of MDIST, and Doniyor Yusupov, a representative of IT Park Uzbekistan. Both speakers underscored the significance of startups in the national economy, elaborated on the comprehensive support offered by IT Park, and shared motivating examples of successful local startups that have secured investments and initiated international expansion. Additionally, Said Aslanov, Coordinator of the MDIST Business Incubation Center, informed the participants about the benefits of the incubation program, emphasizing how startups could access essential resources and mentorship to facilitate their development.  

 

 

Second- and third-year university students in Tashkent presented their innovative projects. Among the projects were DAMDAM, introduced by Samandar Erkinov; Your Service, presented by Mirzokhid Choriev; ratemyedu.org, showcased by Shokhjakhon Akmalov; FitLook, developed by Mukhamadamin Abdurakhimov; and Habitat, introduced by Sabina Galimova.  

 

 

The projects encompassed a wide array of areas, ranging from educational platforms to innovative services for the fashion industry, highlighting the high level of creativity and entrepreneurial spirit among students.  

 

The event jury comprised distinguished experts in the fields of entrepreneurship and investment, including:

• Abbos Utkirov, Lecturer at MDIS Tashkent (School of Business and Management); 

• Rano Sidikova, Program Manager at Plug and Play; 

• Bekhzod Abdullaev, Investment Manager at IT Park Ventures;

• Farrukh Makhsumov, CEO of C-Space Ventures.  

 

 

IT Park Uzbekistan continues to play an active role in fostering and developing the startup ecosystem in Uzbekistan. By supporting young entrepreneurs in addressing critical challenges, providing resources, and ensuring mentorship, IT Park contributes to the creation of innovative solutions. The MDIST Demo Day served as another milestone in establishing an innovation-driven environment and encouraging the development of new technological projects capable of competing in international markets.
